Anybody can be a Target

Nobody is exempt from cyber security as anybody can be the target of a cyber attack.

Gloucester City Council has been reprimanded over a cyber attack which happened when they were compromised by ransomware in December 2021.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) found the council did not have the correct monitoring systems which would have detected the attack. They have been asked to do a full review of its backup and disaster recovery measures as a result.
