Changes Coming to Microsoft 365 Subscriptions

Changes are coming to Microsoft 365 subscriptions news itmage

Microsoft have announced changes to Microsoft 365 subscriptions, with two features being removed next year.

1. You will no longer have access to Skype calls to mobile numbers and landlines.

On 3rd March 2026, Microsoft are removing access to 60 minutes of monthly Skype calls which were part of Microsoft 365 subscriptions.

This is due to Skype being retired in May of this year when the Skype Dial Pad will only be available to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers from the Skype web portal and within Teams Free.

From next March, this feature will be removed but you will be able to use Teams Free for calls.

2. Microsoft Publisher is now end-of-life

From October 2026, Microsoft Publisher will no longer be supported as part of Microsoft 365.

They have chosen not to replace this software due to the features being available in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Designer.

If you use Publisher, you will need to convert your existing Publisher files to PDF or Word format. After 1/10/26, you will no longer be able to open or edit these files with Microsoft Publisher
